US Patent Issued to Stant USA on May 26 for "Capless closure assembly for fuel-tank filler pipe" (Ohio Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,636,950, issued on May 26, was assigned to Stant USA Corp. (Connersville, Ind.).

"Capless closure assembly for fuel-tank filler pipe" was invented by Paul C. Wetzel (Oxford, Ohio) and Arzan Varachhawala (Oxford, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A capless closure is provided for a tank filler pipe. The capless closure permits a fuel pump nozzle to be inserted into the tank filler pipe without first removing a fuel cap from the outer end of the tank filler pipe."

The patent was filed on Oct. 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/909,699.
