According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Polishing devices are disclosed that are particularly well suited for polishing orthopedic implants, such as acetabular cups. The polishing device includes a polishing head having a compressible shape. The polishing head, for instance, can have a rounded surface for polishing concave surfaces. The polishing head can be made from a selection of fibers. The fibers are used to form an impregnated felt material."
