ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,564,789, issued on March 3, was assigned to Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. (Tokyo).
"Tuning upscaling for each computer game object and object portion based on priority" was invented by Deepali Arya (San Mateo, Calif.) and Jason Wang (San Mateo, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "As understood herein, not all objects in a computer game are of equal priority. Given this recognition, present principles apply a range of spatial and temporal resolutions to various objects in the same game depending on the priority of the objects in the game."
The patent was filed on Oct. 6, 2023, under Application No. 18/482,726.
