ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,534,683, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to SOMAR Corp. (Tokyo).

"Magnetic viscous fluid and mechanical device" was invented by Hirohisa Ishizaki (Tokyo) and Akira Ochiai (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a magnetic viscous fluid comprising a magnetic particle, at least one selected from ester base synthetic oil, ether base synthetic oil, and alkylnaphthalene having an alkyl group with 10 to 20 carbons, an inorganic cation exchanger with a siloxane bond, and silicone oil."

The patent was filed on Nov. 18, 2022, under Application No. 18/710,697.
