"Collapsable foundation" was invented by Matthew Griffith (Buffalo, Minn.), Natalie Negus (Minneapolis) and Craig Peterson (Oak Grove, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bed can include one or more connectors for connecting components of the bed. For example, a frame can include a fastening mechanism for releasably connecting a cross-member to a longitudinal support. Another example includes connectors for connecting and aligning a foundation with a frame."

The patent was filed on Sept. 24, 2024, under Application No. 18/894,736.
