ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,545,494, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Silgan Dispensing Systems Corp. (Grandview, Mo.).
"Aerosol actuators and methods of making the same" was invented by Niels Van Wieringen (S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands), Brandon Ramsuer (Henrico, Va.) and Zhili Luo (Glen Allen, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An aerosol dispensing system includes an aerosol actuator attached to an aerosol package, wherein the aerosol actuator includes a unitary body having a manifold and button, an elbow attached to the body, and a straw attached to the body and guided by the elbow from an open position to a closed position."
