ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,546,395, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to SIEMENS ENERGY GLOBAL GMBH & Co. KG (Munich).
"Slide ring" was invented by Steffen Jahrmarcht (Duisburg, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a slide ring having an inner surface arranged so as to face a shaft in operation, the inner surface being formed with a coating, the coating including a polymer, in particular polyetheretherketone (PEEK)."
