ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,502,922, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to Shock Therapy Suspension Inc. (Duluth, Ga.).
"Multi-piece spring perch" was invented by Justin Smith (Wittmann, Ariz.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A multi-piece spring perch for a coilover shock is disclosed including a pair of half members. The coilover shock includes a rod, a coil spring mounted about the rod and a U-shaped member secured to a lower end of the rod. The multi-piece spring perch is mounted about the rod and the U-shaped member to receive an end of the coil spring, strengthening the connection between the rod and the U-shaped member."
