ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,673,134, issued on July 7, was assigned to SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL Co. LTD. (Tokyo), JAPAN VAM & POVAL Co. LTD. (Osaka, Japan), TOHOKU UNIVERSITY (Miyagi, Japan) and KYOTO MEDICAL PLANNING Co. LTD. (Kyoto, Japan).

"Gelatin-containing device" was invented by Shuhei Kanesato (Tokyo), Yoshihiro Kimura (Osaka, Japan), Akinobu Oharuda (Osaka, Japan) and Masafumi Goto (Miyagi, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a novel device (implantation device) containing a gelatin. The implantation device is made of a bioabsorbable non-woven fabric containing a gelatin."
