According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "According to one aspect or the present invention, a battery module for an electric vehicle including a battery cell constituting a battery module, a sensing pad attached to a side surface of the battery cell, a battery management system (BMS) which performs transmission and reception communication with the sensing pad, and a cooling water pipe disposed under the battery cell can be provided."
