ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,729,151, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to SCHOTT AG (Mainz, Germany).
"Glass for radiation and/or particle detectors" was invented by Josef Rasp (Waldsassen, Germany) and Rainer Erwin Eichholz (Frankfurt am Main, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A glass has a transmittance at a reference thickness of 1.0 mm of at least 65.0% at a wavelength of 260 nm. An amount of ZrO2 in the glass is less than 150 ppm."
The patent was filed on Sept. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/475,925.
