ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,753,687, issued on Oct. 6, was assigned to Schlumberger Technology Corp. (Sugar Land, Texas).

"Automated wellbore planning based on wellbore condition" was invented by Derek Long (Cambridge, Great Britain) and Maria Fox (Cambridge, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods facilitate wellbore planning and cleaning operations, and generally relate to use of a planning system that interfaces with a simulator. The planner and simulator interact, via the interface, to evaluate various wellbore plans and the effects of the plans on cuttings accumulation, cuttings transport, wellbore geometry, or other borehole conditions...
