US Patent Issued to Saudi Arabian Oil on Sept. 15 for "Methods of servicing a wellbore using a volcanic ash sealant composition" (Saudi Arabia Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,735,621, issued on Sept. 15, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

"Methods of servicing a wellbore using a volcanic ash sealant composition" was invented by Khawlah Alanqari (Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) and Abdullah Saleh Hussain Al-Yami (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This disclosure methods of servicing a wellbore using a sealant composition, including volcanic ash, cement, an epoxy resin, and a crosslinker."

The patent was filed on Jan. 6, 2025, under Application No. 19/010,331.
