US Patent Issued to Saudi Arabian Oil on Feb. 24 for "Systems and methods to produce hydrogen gas from hydrogen sulfide" (Saudi Arabia Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,365, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure relates to systems and methods to produce hydrogen (H2) gas from hydrogen sulfide (H2S). H2S is contacted with a catalyst to form H2 gas and sulfur adsorbed to the catalyst. The adsorbed sulfur is contacted with oxygen (O2) gas to convert the adsorbed sulfur to sulfur dioxide (SO2) and regenerate the catalyst."
