ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,593, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to SafetySpect Inc. (Sherman Oaks, Calif.).
"Inspection and sanitation device and method" was invented by Fartash Vasefi (Sherman Oaks, Calif.), Kenneth Edward Barton (Palm City, Fla.), Nicholas Bennett MacKinnon (Salt Spring Island, Canada), David Carroll (Arlington, Va.) and Sava Marinkovich (Chicago).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device is disclosed. The device contains a first light source configured to excite fluorescence emission of a first contaminant on a surface, and a first optical sensor configured to capture one or more images of the fluorescence emission of the first contaminant."
