ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,624,426, issued on May 12, was assigned to RTX Corp. (Farmington, Conn.).
"High entropy alloy" was invented by Kenneth D. Smith (East Longmeadow, Mass.), John A. Sharon (West Hartford, Conn.), Ryan M. Deacon (Colchester, Conn.) and Soumalya Sarkar (Manchester, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An alloy comprising by weight percent: 16.0-26.0 Cr; 23.0-34.0 Mo; 21.0-31.0 Ta; 0.50-3.5 Ti; and 17.0-27.0 V."
The patent was filed on June 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/205,757.
