ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,609,010, issued on April 21, was assigned to Rosemount Inc. (Shakopee, Minn.).
"Smart conduit plug" was invented by Jacob D. Holm (Savage, Minn.) and Brian M. Affias (Prior Lake, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A smart conduit plug includes a plug body having an externally threaded region and a diameter and thread pitch to engage a conduit port. At least one electrical component is mounted relative to the plug body and is configured to electrically couple to a field device and provide an indication relative to the field device."
The patent was filed on Sept. 1, 2023, under Application No. 18/459,644.
