ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,630,827, issued on May 19, was assigned to RogCon Inc. (Miami Beach, Fla.).

"Antisense oligonucleotides targeting SCN2A for the treatment of SCN1A encephalopathies" was invented by Steven Petrou (Eltham, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are methods, compounds, and compositions for reducing expression of SCN2A in a subject. Such methods, compounds, and compositions are useful to treat, prevent, delay, or ameliorate an SCN1A related disease or disorder (e.g., Dravet syndrome) in a subject in need."
