ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,057, issued on March 17, was assigned to RESEARCH COOPERATION FOUNDATION OF YEUNGNAM UNIVERSITY (Gyeongsan-si, South Korea).
"Antibacterial and biofilm formation-inhibiting composition containing myristoleic acid as active ingredient" was invented by Jintae Lee (Daegu, South Korea), Jin-Hyung Lee (Daegu, South Korea) and Jae-Gyu Park (Daegu, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an antibacterial and biofilm formation-inhibiting composition containing myristoleic acid as an active ingredient, wherein the myristoleic acid has been confirmed to exhibit an antibacterial effect against acne bacterium...
