ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,608,250, issued on April 21, was assigned to Relay2 Inc. (Milpitas, Calif.).
"Distributed load balancing for access points" was invented by Jihn-Shiarn Chen (Fremont, Calif.), Wai-Tak Siu (San Jose, Calif.) and Wei Lu (Beijing).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Third party applications are deployed as "containerized applications" on one or more wireless AP devices. The containerized applications are confined to a pre-allocated segregated disk space within a file system of a wireless AP device. The containerized applications have access to standard Linux services as well as access to advanced features provided by an AP."
