ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,752,020, issued on Oct. 6, was assigned to REGENXBIO INC. (Rockville, Md.).

"Microdystrophin nucleic acid gene therapy constructs and uses thereof" was invented by Chunping Qiao (Rockville, Md.), Devin McDougald (Boston), Ye Liu (Clarksville, Md.) and Olivier Danos (Princeton, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are gene constructs that encode a microdystrophin protein for use in gene therapy.
