US Patent Issued to Rambus on Oct. 20 for "Active interposer system" (California, North Carolina Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,770,673, issued on Oct. 20, was assigned to Rambus Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Active interposer system" was invented by Dongyun Lee (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Mark D. Kellam (Siler City, N.C.) and Joohee Kim (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An interposer interconnecting a first integrated circuit and a second integrated circuit includes active circuitry. The "active" interposer converts high-speed signals into lower-speed, but more parallelized, signals for transmission across the active interposer.
