ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,597,970, issued on April 7, was assigned to QUALCOMM Inc. (San Diego).

"Hybrid multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) precoder codebook based on discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and non-DFT precoders" was invented by Yi Huang (San Diego), Yu Zhang (San Diego) and Peter Gaal (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A user equipment (UE) precodes data for transmission by the wireless device based on a hybrid codebook comprising a first set of one or more discrete Fourier transform (DFT) precoders and a second set of one or more non-DFT precoders. The UE also transmits a signal based on the precoded data."
