ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,411,962, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Pure Storage Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Managed run-time environment-based detection of a ransomware attack" was invented by Paulo Marcon (Porto Alegre, Brazil), Romulo Gelinger Maciel (Canoas, Brazil) and Ronald Karr (Palo Alto, Calif.).
