ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,559,593, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to PRC-DeSoto International Inc. (Sylmar, Canada).
"Dual cure sealants" was invented by JianCheng Liu (Arcadia, Calif.), Srikant Pathak (Diamond Bar, Calif.) and Bruce Virnelson (Valencia, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions that are curable by free radical redox reactions are disclosed. Free radical curing reactions between polythiols and polyalkyenyls are initiated by the reaction of metal complexes and organic peroxides. The compositions are useful as sealants."
The patent was filed on April 4, 2023, under Application No. 18/295,833.
