ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,486,349, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to PPG Industries Ohio Inc. (Cleveland).

"Curable compositions" was invented by Matthew S. Faber (Gibsonia, Pa.) and Elizabeth A. Horner (Johnstown, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a curable composition including the following components: (i) a first alkoxysilane which is unhydrolyzed; (ii) a second alkoxysilane which is 5 to 45 percent hydrolyzed; and (iii) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The invention also provides coatings formed from the curable composition and articles coated with the curable composition."
