ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,617,499, issued on May 5, was assigned to POLARIS INDUSTRIES INC. (Medina, Minn.).

"Gate system for a pontoon boat" was invented by Aleksander Pruszynski (Granger, Ind.), Adam T. Weis (Elkhart, Ind.), Bradley R. Fishburn (Syracuse, Ind.) and Thomas E. Smead III (Jones, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A gate system for a pontoon boat is provided. The gate system may comprise a gate, a guide, and a guide interface member."

The patent was filed on Sept. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/373,332.
