US Patent Issued to Platform Robotics on Sept. 8 for "Deleafing apparatus and method" (Michigan Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,727,543, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Platform Robotics Inc. (Birmingham, Mich.).

"Deleafing apparatus and method" was invented by Christon Thomas Manzella (Waterford, Mich.), John Baldiga (Oakland, Mich.) and John Stephen LeRoy (Birmingham, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an apparatus and method for efficiently separating dirt and biomass (leaves, stems, etc.) from more desirable aspects of plant material, with minimal damage to those desirable aspects."
