ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,583,891, issued on March 24, was assigned to PHOENIX ALPHA (Paris).

"Peptides and methods for the treatment of diabetes" was invented by Luc Vander Elst (Obaix, Belgium), Vincent Carlier (Enines, Belgium) and Jean-Marie Saint-Remy (Grez-Doiceau, Belgium).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to peptides such as HCPYCSLQPLALEGSLQKRG [SEQ ID NO: 26] and their use in the treatment of type 1 diabetes and the generation of cytolytic CD4+ T cell."

The patent was filed on Aug. 8, 2023, under Application No. 18/446,172.
