ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,600,536, issued on April 14, was assigned to Personalizations Inc. (Tustin, Calif.).
"Dual function lid for mug or other drinkware" was invented by Trevor Gnesin (Irvine, Calif.), Ken Homma (Pasadena, Calif.) and Marjorie Wheeler (Torrance, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments of a multifunction lid and drink container are described. The lid includes a sipping drink opening and a drink spout. The lid is configured to allow the user holding the drink container in one hand to drink from either the spout or the drink opening without rotating the lid body or changing hands holding the drink container."
