US Patent Issued to OTSUKA PHARMACEUTICAL on June 2 for "Anti-GDF15 antibody" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,643,943, issued on June 2, was assigned to OTSUKA PHARMACEUTICAL Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

"Anti-GDF15 antibody" was invented by Shigeki Nishihara (Osaka, Japan), Yuichi Ishikawa (Osaka, Japan), Yuichiro Nakaishi (Osaka, Japan) and Tatsuya Kawato (Osaka, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure includes an anti-hGDF15 antibody that binds to an epitope of hGDF15 comprising the amino acid sequence of DHCPLGPGRCCRLH (SEQ ID NO: 3) and uses thereof."

The patent was filed on Dec. 3, 2020, under Application No. 17/782,456.
