US Patent Issued to Osteon Medical on Sept. 8 for "Prone mat device and methods" (Nebraska Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,728,058, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Osteon Medical LLC (Grand Island, Neb.).

"Prone mat device and methods" was invented by Nathan William Murdoch (Grand Island, Neb.) and Cody L. Evans (Grand Island, Neb.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Some embodiments described herein include a patient positioning system configured to orient a patient comfortably in a prone position for an extended period of time during a medical procedure, such as a kyphoplasty procedure."

The patent was filed on Feb. 1, 2022, under Application No. 18/275,281.
