ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,308,133, issued on May 20, was assigned to ORANO MED (Chatillon, France).
"Method for producing lead-212 from an aqueous solution comprising thorium-228 and daughters thereof" was invented by Remy Dureau (Saint-Gence, France) and Julien Torgue (Gaithersburg, Md.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for producing lead-212 of very high radiological purity from an aqueous solution comprising thorium-228 and daughters thereof. Manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals based on lead-212, which are useful in nuclear medicine and, in particular, in targeted alpha radiation therapy for the treatment of cancers."
