ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,584,017, issued on March 24, was assigned to Ohio University (Athens, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composite is formed from a combination of a polymer and pulverized coal and optionally a compatibilizing agent. The coal forms from about 10 to about 80% of the composite. The composite is form by blending the pulverized coal with the polymer to form the composite."
