ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,632,094, issued on May 19, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Priority based power allocation" was invented by Sreedhar Narayanaswamy (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to allocate power to one or more processors. In at least one embodiment, processors or computing systems perform an API to allocate power to one or more processors based, at least in part, on indications of priority of one or more threads to be performed by the one or more processors."

The patent was filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under Application No. 18/425,618.
