US Patent Issued to NVIDIA on June 23 for "Neural network-based image compression" (Indian Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,664,694, issued on June 23, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Neural network-based image compression" was invented by Vipul Parashar (Pune, India).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques are presented to compress data. In at least one embodiment, one or more images are generated based, at least in part, upon one or more compressed images and image enhancement data generated using one or more neural networks."

The patent was filed on March 29, 2022, under Application No. 17/707,633.
