ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,806, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Motion planning" was invented by Albert Wu (Stanford, Calif.), Clemens Eppner (Seattle) and Dieter Fox (Seattle).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to generate a motion plan. In at least one embodiment, a motion plan is generated using a neural network based, at least in part, on a demonstration of a task."

The patent was filed on Sept. 7, 2023, under Application No. 18/243,467.
