ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,608,883, issued on April 21, was assigned to NVIDIA Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Generating 3D models using neural networks" was invented by Ming-Yu Liu (San Jose, Calif.), Chen-Hsuan Lin (Santa Clara, Calif.), Luming Tang (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Tsung-Yi Lin (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to generate three-dimensional models. In at least one embodiment, one or more neural networks are used to generate one or more three-dimensional models based, at least in part, on a single two-dimensional image."

The patent was filed on June 12, 2023, under Application No. 18/333,177.
