ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,753,402, issued on Oct. 6, was assigned to Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill.) and Georgia State University Research Foundation (Atlanta).

"Orthogonal ubiquitin transfer as a method to identify cellular substrates of E3 ubiquitin ligases" was invented by Jun Yin (Atlanta), Hiroaki Kiyokawa (Chicago), Yiyang Wang (Atlanta), Karan Bhuripanyo (Atlanta), Bo Zhao (Atlanta), Xianpeng Liu (Evanston, Ill.) and Li Zhou (Atlanta).
