ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,490,259, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to Nokia Solutions and Networks Oy (Espoo, Finland).

"Whitening uplink data streams" was invented by Roy Yang (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Francis Dominique (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Rajeev Agrawal (Glenview, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Different solutions, in which uplink data streams are whitened and after that combined, are disclosed. The whitening is performed by applying whitening parameters received in a downlink control information. The whitening parameters are based on predictions on channel conditions."

The patent was filed on July 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/221,931.
