ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,655,495, issued on June 16, was assigned to NIPPON STEEL Corp. (Tokyo).

"Steel sheet for hot stamping, method for manufacturing the same, hot stamped component, and method for manufacturing the same" was invented by Masafumi Azuma (Tokyo), Yuri Toda (Tokyo) and Kenichiro Otsuka (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A steel sheet for hot stamping includes, as a chemical composition, by mass %: C: 0.060% to 0.120%; Si: 0% to 0.70%; Mn: 1.60% to 3.00%; P: 0.100% or less; S: 0.0100% or less; N: 0.0100% or less; Al: 0.001% to 0.100%; Ti: 0.005% to 0.050%; and B: 0.0005% to 0.0100%.
