US Patent Issued to Nippon Sheet Glass on July 21 for "Glass body" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,686,633, issued on July 21, was assigned to Nippon Sheet Glass Co. Ltd. (Tokyo).

"Glass body" was invented by Kazutaka Kamitani (Tokyo), Yuki Shimamura (Tokyo), Teruyuki Sasaki (Tokyo) and Mizuho Koyo (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The glass body according to the present invention includes a plate-like glass plate having a first surface and a second surface; and an antibacterial film that is formed on the first surface and in which copper ions are dispersed."

The patent was filed on Nov. 1, 2021, under Application No. 18/034,537.
