ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,584,249, issued on March 24, was assigned to Ningbo Xinrun Textile Co. Ltd. (Cixi City, China) and Roemar Inc. (Westborough, Mass.).
"Tearable cloth" was invented by Robert Poirier (Southborough, Mass.), Buyi Cen (Cixi, China), Jieyuan Cen (Cixi, China), Lijun Lin (Cixi, China) and Chenxin Fei (Cixi, China).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A continuous cloth comprising a meltable material comprises one or more cloth units having separation portions therebetween, wherein cloth material of the separation portions has been hot melted, facilitating separation of adjacent cloth units at the respective separation portion therebetween."
