US Patent Issued to National Cheng Kung University on May 19 for "Method for manufacturing biochar, biochar and composite material" (Taiwanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,630,720, issued on May 19, was assigned to National Cheng Kung University (Tainan City, Taiwan).

"Method for manufacturing biochar, biochar and composite material" was invented by Wei-Hsin Chen (Kaohsiung City, Taiwan) and Kuan-Ting Lee (Tainan City, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A biomass treatment method includes steps as follows. A biomass and sodium percarbonate are provided, wherein the biomass includes hemicellulose, cellulose and/or lignin. The biomass and the sodium percarbonate are mixed."
