ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,751,833, issued on Oct. 6, was assigned to NANOHIVE MEDICAL INC. (Woburn, Mass.).
"Sensor enabled interbody implants and methods for manufacturing same" was invented by Ian Helmar (Beverly, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sensor-enabled implant is disclosed. The sensor-enabled implant includes two endplates that are separated via a low stiffness body. A sensor is disposed within an implant body along a loading direction of the implant such that it measures a load applied to a loadbearing endplate of the implant."
The patent was filed on March 12, 2026, under Application No. 19/565,296.
