ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,594,177, issued on April 7, was assigned to MUELLER SPORTS MEDICINE INC. (Prairie du Sac, Wis.).
"Ankle brace" was invented by Sarah Kuehl (Madison, Wis.) and Kayla Daken (Prairie du Sac, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ankle brace with a flexible splint that includes a stirrup shape fastened to the foot, a middle section formed as a partial helix shape that extends from the outside of the foot over the instep, and an upper end fastened to the leg at a point above the ankle and above the inside of the foot."
The patent was filed on June 25, 2023, under Application No. 18/213,871.
