ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,622,960, issued on May 12, was assigned to ModernaTX Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.).
"Varicella zoster virus (VZV) vaccine" was invented by Giuseppe Ciaramella (Sudbury, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aspects of the disclosure relate to nucleic acid vaccines. The vaccines include at least one RNA polynucleotides having a open reading frame encoding at least varicella zoster virus (VZV) antigen. Methods for preparing and using such vaccines are also described."
The patent was filed on Jan. 18, 2024, under Application No. 18/416,835.
