ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,534,413, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to Mitsubishi Materials Corp. (Tokyo).
"Hard composite material" was invented by Masahiro Yano (Naka, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cBN sinter comprising cubic boron nitride grains and a binder phase, the binder phase comprising Ti2CN and TiAl3, wherein the ratio ITi2CN/ITiAl3 of the peak intensity IT2CN of Ti2CN appearing at 2Theta=41.9deg to 42.2deg to the peak intensity ITiAl3 of TiAl3 appearing at 2Theta=39.0deg to 39.3deg is in a range of 2.0 to 30.0 in an XRD measurement."
