ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,596,542, issued on April 7, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).

"Generating and distributing customized embedded operating systems" was invented by Sudhanva Huruli (Seattle), Reuben Ross Olinsky (Seattle), Mark Andrew Cawston (King's Lynn, Great Britain) and Rebecca Leigh Holt (Cambridge, Great Britain).
