ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,645,079, issued on June 2, was assigned to Meta Platforms Technologies LLC (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Binocular disparity and boresite error sensing from light field" was invented by Jasmin Cote (Quebec, Canada) and Tamer Elazhary (Redmond, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Various embodiments set forth a sensing device. In some embodiments, the sensing device includes a first angle sensor configured to detect a first portion of light projected toward a left eye. In addition, the sensing device includes a second angle sensor configured to detect a second portion of light projected toward a right eye."
